Sobre

“Social inclusion is defined as the process of improving the terms of participation in society for people who are disadvantaged on the basis of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or economic or other status, through enhanced opportunities, access to resources, voice and respect for rights . Thus, social inclusion is both a process and a goal.  <...>, it is contended that promoting social inclusion requires tackling social exclusion by removing barriers to people’s participation in society, as well as by taking active inclusionary steps to facilitate such participation. As a political response to the exclusion challenge, social inclusion is thus a more deliberate process of encompassing and welcoming all persons and embracing greater equality and tolerance.”

Social Inclusion topic is inseparable from socially vulnerable groups.

The following vulnerable groups have been identified by ESF (European Social Funds):
  • A person belonging to social, cultural, ethnic and religious minorities, a migrant, a person of foreign origin;
  • A disabled person ;
  • A person who has no habitual residence (A homeless person, a resident in a boarding house or a crisis centre, a person who received the bailiff’s call to move out, a person living in a house which do not meet the requirements for construction and special standards).
  •  A person belonging to socially vulnerable groups (A person who is a beggar, vagrant, addict, prone to commit crimes, victim of physical or sexual domestic violence, someone having lost skills for independent life, a child facing learning difficulties or an out-of-school child, illiterate  and belonging to other socially vulnerable groups specified in the Description of the Terms and Conditions for Financing of Projects.)
